PJL Soccer skills
The friends of Woodheys Park based in Sale are please to announce that funding for their popular football skills courses has been agreed for the winter period.  As the park is not floodlit we have been forced to amend the times to suit and so the courses will now be held every Tuesday between 4 - 5pm.

Our football skills courses have become hugely popular with the children based around the park, the weekly trophy scheme and quality of the F.A approved coaches running the course has kept children coming back week after week.  At no cost to the children these football skills courses are a good way to get your children involved in a group activity where motivation and teamwork are paramount to their enjoyment.

We are still looking to improve the facilities within the park and next spring we would hope to be able to replace the goalposts and continue running these football coaching and skills courses throughout 2009.

The Friends of Woodheys park is staffed by volunteers who freely give up their time for the benefit of all who use the park.  Their is no firm commitment to the amount of time each member provides but all committee group members meet at least monthly with public meetings open to friends group members bi-monthly.

The Friends of Woodheys Park are working hard to make this a park to be proud of.
woodheys park entrance
Woodheys Park has undergone a remarkable transformation since 2000 when the friends group was formed to rescue the park from ruin after years of under investment.
Based on Kenmore Road in the popular catchment area of Sale West, Broadheath and Timperley the park is ideally situated for days out. With it's pitch and putt, family five-a-side and children's area, woodheys woods and gardens there is plenty to do within the park for the whole family. This is what makes Woodheys park in Sale special, the family atmosphere which has been created and nurtured making a pleasant green space for all to enjoy.
