Woodheys Park Friend’s group are looking for volunteers to spruce up the hockey pitch in Woodheys park. Saturday the 19th Novermber at 12pm the friend’s group are going to sort-out the badly needed repairs to the hockey pitch goalmouths.

A letter appeared in the Sale & Altrincham Messenger this week asking other dog owners to take responsibility for their dogs in and around Woodheys Park. The park is a safe haven for responsible dog walkers but we would like to name & shame those dog walkers who do not take the necessary responsibility of looking after a dog in a public place.

These aren't the only signs of nocturnal visitors of the unwelcome kind. Broken fences along Woodhouse Lane East also point to after hours visitors to the park. So much so that patrols within the area have been stepped up to discourage these unwanted visitors.
At the end of July an inspection was carried out of Woodheys park and the score shows Woodheys Park to be the fourth best kept park in the Borough. Once the showpiece park Woodheys has undergone a number of changes, both in personnel within the park and the way the park is funded.

In Sale visiting family Eddie and his wife visited "Pinky Park", a favourite haunt of his wife whilst growing up in the area. I am sure you will agree the photograph of the childrens play area is dramatic in black and white and perfectly highlights the park on a cold, winters day.
