Junior activity fun day 2008

Woodheys Park's junior activity fun day was a major success this year with over 350 children signed up to take part on the day.

Golf, Tri-Golf, Dance, Fitness and Football were all on the agenda in July at the park and the contributions by Trafford Leisure Trust, PJL Soccer, The Sunshine Cafe and Irwell Valley Housing Association made this a fabulous day for all.  Most of the events were open from 10:30 through until 2:30pm and all volunteers were kept busy by the number of children who came along.  On a scorching day where temperatures hit the high 20's more than a few of those working on the day went away with a little sun-burn.

Gavin Wight the chair of the friend's group deemed the day a great success stating "this has been the best event this park has ever held and should be a benchmark for what this park can do". 

The Friend's group are looking at their events calender for 2009 but still have one more event to squeeze into 2008 with the Adult Golf Tournament in October.  Anybody who wishes to sign up for the adult tournament please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
